Whether you're rushing paramedics to an accident scene or responding to a brush fire, you can count on Cummins ISB. Every call. Every time. The 2007 ISB combines increased displacement (5.9 liters to 6.7 liters) and High Pressure Common Rail fuel injection with our patented Variable Geometry Turbo to deliver stronger performance at every rpm. Multiple injection events per cycle also make the ISB run extremely quiet.

Of course, the ISB also meets 2007 emissions requirements. The fact that it runs both stronger and cleaner is the result of our totally integrated design. Features include a proven cooled-EGR subsystem, High Pressure Common Rail fuel injection, the VG Turbo, Cummins Particulate Filter and a crankcase ventilation system, all developed to work together under the control of a single, more powerful ECM. The VG Turbo also doubles as an exhaust brake to increase stopping power. The result is an engine that delivers optimum performance, reliability, durability and fuel efficiency with increased safety.

The ISB is also designed to keep operating costs in check, with long maintenance intervals and excellent fuel economy. Ratings range from 260-350 hp.

  • Displacement Increased to 6.7 Liters - 13% increase in displacement (from 5.9 to 6.7 liters) for increased power and performance.
  • Enhanced High Pressure Common Rail Fuel System - Delivers optimum balance of performance, emissions control and fuel economy across the entire operating range.
  • Full-Authority Electronic Controls - Higher microprocessor capacity and speed for optimum control of the engine and aftertreatment.
  • Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation - Lowers combustion temperatures for reduced emissions and optimized mpg.
  • Variable Geometry Turbocharger - Enhanced response and control with electric actuation for an infinite adjustment, providing exact boost across the operating range. Sliding-nozzle design increases reliability, durability.
  • Cummins Particulate Filter - Fully integrated for uncompromising performance, reliability. Reduces particulate matter 90%.
  • Crankcase Ventilation System - coalescing filter only needs replacement every 3rd to 4th oil change.
  • Low Maintenance - Long oil change intervals maintained. Cummins Particulate Filter will go 200,000-400,000 miles (320,000-640,000 km) in a typical duty cycle in most vehicles before it needs cleaning.
