In every corner of the globe and every construction zone, chances are good that you'll find Cummins B Series engines hard at work. Over 3 million B Series engines are currently in use, from chippers to welders to skid steer loaders. Our mechanical B series engines are small enough to fit the equipment but big enough to handle the job. Three different models are available, the four-cylinder B3.9 and B4.5 plus the 6-cylinder B5.9. Ratings range from 80-173 hp, with varying combinations of turbocharging, natural aspiration and charge air cooling for optimal performance. Plus, the B Series is designed to minimize downtime for maintenance.

With literally hundreds of application options, getting the right combination of standard features and options for your equipment sounds difficult, but Cummins Advisor makes getting it right the first time a lot easier.

Every B Series engine comes with a base warranty.

For everyday performance, every month and every year, Cummins B Series engines are tough to beat. Whether you're laying down hot asphalt on a sweltering summer afternoon or digging a trench in the middle of winter, Cummins B Series has the power you need and the reliability you demand.

The B3.9 shares the same technology platform with the B5.9, our most popular engine ever, with performance optimized across a wide power band.

The B4.5 is identical in exterior dimensions to the B3.9 but features a longer stroke for more power and better low-end torque. It is offered with a choice of natural aspiration or turbocharging, to meet your power demands.

The B5.9 is a six-cylinder in-line design that uses 40% fewer parts than traditional diesels, thanks to its unitized design. Like all B Series engines, it is a proven power plant with mechanical fuel injection that meets ecological concerns in a highly efficient package.

For complete maintenance information, please consult your Owner's Manual or Operations and Maintenance Manual.

Cummins B Series engines come with a full 2-year/2,000-hour warranty that covers all Cummins branded components, including Cummins branded electrics such as starters and alternators. Major components coverage continues into the third year, up to 10,000 hours of operation from the time your B Series engine goes into service.

Three simple steps explain everything you need to know:

Step One: Full coverage on all Cummins industrial engines and branded components with unlimited hours during the first year of operation. This includes Cummins branded electrics such as alternators, starters, etc.

Step Two: Full coverage is extended for the second year, up to 2,000 hours of operation. Total hours are cumulative from the time the engine goes in service.

Step Three: Major components coverage including block, crankshaft, camshaft and rods on all products for the third year or up to 10,000 hours of operation. Total hours are cumulative from the time the engine goes in service.

Getting every installation right - the first time - is what Cummins Advisor is all about. Advisor software builds a virtual model to make sure every system (air, intake, exhaust, cooling) is integrated for optimum performance. It takes into account everything from load factors to operating climates to duty cycles - then identifies systems or components that could negatively impact reliability - listing alternatives that will deliver the performance you expect the first time - every time.
