Every day, QSM engines are put to the test in construction equipment worldwide with superior performance.

Maintenance is kept to an absolute minimum, with oil change intervals that are double the previous standards in some applications, sealed sensors and an auto-tensioning belt drive.

Available in a range of ratings from 250-400 hp (186-298 kW), every QSM is perfectly matched to every piece of equipment.  The QSM not only meets Tier 2 and Euro Stage II emission standards, its advanced design can reach Tier 3 and Stage IIIA requirements as well, with minimal changes.  Cummins engineers work with the original equipment manufacturers, shaping power curves and ratings to align with the work environment, load factors and operating modes.  Then, we optimize the engine's performance with the other vehicle components and subsystems, using Cummins Advisor.

The QSM come with virually every feature standard.  QSM options include REPTO (Rear Engine Power Take-Off).

Every QSM engine is covered by Cummins three-step warranty, one of the most comprehensive and simplest plans in the industry.

The QSM high-pressure injection system and electronic controls ensure clean, powerful and efficient operation every time. The ECM continuously monitors data from strategically placed sensors within the engine, optimizing the fuel-to-air mixture for maximum combustion. This increases engine responsiveness, improves fuel efficiency and significantly reduces noise levels.

The Holset wastegated turbos provide high efficiency and responsive torque every time for everyday dependability.

Every Cummins QSM engine is designed to go the distance, with heavy-duty components that have been proven in hundreds of applications, around the world.

  • Advanced Combustion Technology - Optimized injector tips and a reshaped steel piston bowl improve fuel economy and emissions control, resulting in longer change intervals.
  • Articulated Pistons - Steel-topped articulated pistons handle higher cylinder temperatures for improved fuel economy and emissions control.
  • Patented Mid-Stop Cylinder Liners - Resist cavitation, extend life-to-overhaul.
  • Improved Camshaft Design - Exhaust valve lobes are designed to improve wear tolerance, and the injector lobe profile has been revised to optimize injection.
  • Sealed Sensors - Fully sealed to resist water intrusion and enhance reliability. Combined temperature and pressure sensors reduce inventory and simplify maintenance.
  • CELECT™ Electronic Engine Management - Provides superior performance, fuel efficiency, diagnostics and prognostics using full-authority electronics. Its programmable features let you customize engine performance to equipment use.
    • REPTO - Rear Engine Power Take-Off provides additional capability for driving remote-mounted devices

The QSM was designed to deliver more time in the field and less time being serviced. Maintenance intervals have been made longer, and service has been made simpler.

    Maintenance Intervals.
Cummins QSM engines feature a Venturi™ oil filter by our Fleetguard subsidiary in combination with an improved lube system that increases oil flow, reduces lubrication delay at start-up and improves protection.

The base warranty includes full coverage on every B Series engine and branded components, including electrics such as starters and alternators for unlimited hours during the first year of operation, extending through 2 years or 2,000 hours (whichever comes first). The base warranty also includes 3-year/10,000-hour standard protection on major components.

Three simple steps explain everything you need to know:

Step One: Full coverage on all Cummins industrial engines and branded components with unlimited hours during the first year of operation. This includes Cummins branded electrics such as alternators, starters, etc.

Step Two: Full coverage is extended for the second year, up to 2,000 hours of operation. Total hours are cumulative from the time the engine goes in service.

Step Three: Major components coverage including block, crankshaft, camshaft and rods on all products for the third year or up to 10,000 hours of operation.

Extended coverage is available with our Encompass Protection Plans with the flexibility to meet the needs of your agriculture operation.  Cummins Encompass has you covered, around the clock and around the globe.
