Safety is a priority at Cummins. That's why we recommend the optional E Brake by Jacobs®* on every school bus application below 245 hp. Designed specifically to match the ISB, it delivers up to 148 braking horsepower for increased driver control, at every stop. Adding an E Brake also helps reduce wear on service brakes, so you can run longer with fewer brake jobs.

If you are buying an ISB engine rated at 245 hp and above, you'll automatically get engine braking as a function of the standard VG Turbocharger. It is totally integrated into the design of the engine, minimizing weight and installation issues while increasing driver control on every downgrade and at every stop.
