The ISC is designed to keep buses out of the garage and on the road.

Oil and oil filter changes are at 15,000-mile (24,000 km) intervals. The low-maintenance fuel filter assembly with an integrated water separator and water-in-fuel sensor helps prevent performance problems that result from contaminated fuel. The 10-micron filter is designed to increase filter change intervals up to 15,000 miles (24,000 km), consistent with oil change intervals.

The "no-adjust" overhead rocker system is designed to go at least 150,000 miles (240,000 km) before checking.

The first standard coolant change doesn't occur until the odometer reads 240,000 miles (384,000 km). Cummins ISC is fully compatible with long-life coolant/antifreeze formulas, which allow changes out to 600,000 miles (960,000 km) or 6 years. Follow maintenance guidelines recommended by the manufacturer for safe use with extended service intervals.

Note: If your ISC is equipped with an optional coolant filter, it will need to be replaced on the same intervals as the oil filter.
