There are no excused absences for a school bus. That's why Cummins ISC has a strengthened cylinder block and head. Mid-stop cylinder liners deliver durability with complete rebuildability. The gear housing is mounted directly to the block for greater resistance to vibration-related problems. To lower temperatures and increase engine life, the ISC uses high-capacity cooling and lubrication systems. The ISC uses a combination full-flow and bypass oil filter that increases piston ring and bearing life - the same filter used on Cummins ISL, ISM and ISX heavy-duty engines. Even the exhaust manifold has been redesigned, to relieve metal stress from extreme temperature changes.
